Dear Goggako and ISSH Alumnae,
This is to inform you that our term as the Alumnae Board will be ending as of March 31st. Thank you all for supporting us! Following is a farewell message from us all.
Nobuko Kodama (Arai) Kodama, '77 / President and JASH Correspondence
Our biggest mission from the previous board was to connect/reconnect all alumnae scattered around the globe and also to invigorate and attract young alumnae. Difficult task as it was, we hope that we played a meaningful role however small. Thank you all who shared precious stories in the Alumnae Lounge and inspired many and awakened ISSH spirit. Thank you all who came to the reunions, who like/commented on the FB. It's an energizer when you get any kind of response and to learn that some one out there is actually reading our message. Happy to say, our Official Goggako and ISSH FB now has 700 members, an increase of nearly 200 in the last two years. We hope that many will also go to the alumnae webpage to register/update their contact info, stay connected and be an interactive member of the community. Best wishes to you all and keep on smiling! Last but not least, thank you Minako Kumiko Hiroko Kazuko Yasuko for being such a wonderful crew on board a Nobi's(my nickname)jalopy💨
Minako (Shimomura) Asai, '77 / Vice President and Treasurer
It was my great pleasure being on the board. People I met through these years were so warm and inspiring. I cannot thank enough for all the support and friendship.
Kumiko (Kato) Ito, '77 / Correspondence, Database, Alumnae Lounge, Website
I can't believe two years have already passed. I really enjoyed working with my fellow board members. It was like my high school years all over again. Good luck to the new board members and hope that they will have fun just like we did!
Hiroko (Takahashi) Nakamura, '77, / Mass for the Deceased-correspondence
It has been a lot of fun and enjoyable days working together with the alumnae board members. I hope to see many more alumnae taking part in alumnae activities, spreading connections and cherishing this special community.
Kazuko (Ito) Nakagawa, '77, / Reunion, Fundraising
The two year experience as a member of Alumnae board has been rich and rewarding. Looking back, I feel the board has been successful in preserving the best of the tradition, and at the same time, challenging and pioneering changes that were called for in the age of Internet. It was a privilege to serve as a member of such a talented and dedicated team. Thank you to my fellow board members for filling in whatever I lacked. I hope Mayling and her board enjoy their team as much as we did.
Yasuko (Ihara) Fukuda, '77, / Logo Goods
With our BOARD TEAM '77, it was like going back to school days and I really enjoyed the opportunity given to renew the flag logo I first drew 22 years ago. Thank you to everyone.
*We would like to welcome the new president Mayling Woo Clements '81 and her team, effective as of April 1st! Wishing them all the best and all your support in their endeavors for our Alumnae.
