Art and Performance Spaces
The arts take centre stage at Sacred Heart — whether through the visual arts, music, dance, or drama, our programming is designed to nurture creative expression from Kindergarten through Senior year.
Our student artists, musicians, dancers, and thespians enjoy a variety of purpose-built spaces for the arts, from practide spaces—like the choir and drama rooms—to studio spaces—like the 2D and 3D art rooms—to the wide range of performance spaces of varying sizes and purposes around campus. Our campus chapel, which features spacious seating, including a balcony level, adds beauty and ambiance to our annual Christmas and Spring Concerts, while smaller multipurpose performance spaces like the AV room and the Duchesne Room allow for lunchtime and after school showcases, serving to blend the arts into everyday life at ISSH.
Campus Chapel
Our campus chapel is bright and spacious, making it the perfect place for liturgies, full-school gatherings, and concerts. Spacious seating is split between the ground level and a balcony level, and the beautiful architecture and stained-glass windows build a sense of beauty and serenity for viewers and performers.
Choir Room
The choir room hosts music classes for middle and high school, as well as rehearsals for the various choirs at Sacred Heart.
AV Room
One of the many multipurpose spaces on campus, the AV room is fully set up with a professional stage lighting and sound system. Used for dance and music performances, student gatherings and assemblies, extracurriculars, and much more, the space is always a hub of activity on campus.
Drama Room
Our spacious drama room is the home of all things theatre—from drama classes to extracurriculars. Equipped with extensive storage space for props and sets, it also contains a small black box style theatre space for small performances and rehearsals.
2D Art Studio
Our 2D Art Studio is the perfect space for drawing, painting, printmaking, and much more.
3D Art / Ceramics Studio
Our 3D art programme is one of the things that makes ISSH special, and our 3D art studio is where the action happens! The studio is equipped with pottery wheels and a kiln to fire ceramics, allowing students to explore their creative expression from wheel throwing to clay sculpture and everything in-between.
