The Sacred Heart Network

Four middle school students smiling happily in front of the Kindergarten and Junior School Building

Today, the legacy of St Madeleine Sophie Barat's dedication to the education of girls and women spans more than 35 countries. ISSH is a part of a global network of more than 150 sister schools, providing our students with unique opportunities to make connections today and for a lifetime.

Students at ISSH benefit from Sacred Heart Network schools near and far—we are one of four schools offering education in the K-12 range, and also connect with the Sacred Heart University here in Tokyo. In the Asia-Pacific region, we share exchange opportunities, athletic events, and professional development resources with our colleagues in South Korea, Taiwan, Australia, and New Zealand. Our students take part in high school international homestay and study abroad programs with schools in the United States and France. And informally, many of our students are able to arrange visits or participate in programmes at the Sacred Heart schools near their hometowns in their countries of origin, or at travel destinations their family visits, providing them with a "home away from home" when they travel, filled with familiar values and imagery, such as our shared Goals. ISSH is the only international school in Tokyo with such a robust range of international exchange opportunities with schools in such a wide variety of different countries.
