Definition of Assessment and Evaluation
Assessment is a means of gathering information about the knowledge and skills that we want students to learn and what we, as teachers, need to do to help them learn (formative). Evaluation relates to judgments of merit or worth based on that information (summative).
Philosophy of Assessment
Assessment is a process that provides teachers, students, and administration with information and insights needed to improve teaching effectiveness and learning quality. Assessment helps educators to gather, record, evaluate and report information about student performance and progress toward agreed standards.
