Advanced Placement

High school students, intently focused during science class while completing a lab experiment

The Sacred Heart experience centres around rigorous, meaningful educational opportunities, built on the foundation of high quality learning and teaching standards, in alignment with our Sacred Heart Goals and Criteria. This is exemplified in the wide range of Advanced Placement (AP) courses offered at ISSH, which culminate in AP examinations administered by the US-based organisation College Board. AP courses center around college-level curricula, and many US, Canada, and overseas universities offer credit for achieving certain scores on AP exams. To learn more about AP courses and exams, visit the College Board's AP website.

AP courses last one school year in duration, and can be taken individually, rather than as a part of a set course load (which is required for other programmes such as the IB Diploma). This allows students to choose their areas of focus and specialise in the areas they are passionate about, or that they plan to study in university. ISSH also offers the courses required to achieve the various AP diplomas, AP Seminar and AP Research.

Advanced Placement Courses

ISSH offers a total of 24 AP courses, with various options available in every core subject area.

External AP Requests

AP testing services are exclusively available to students currently enrolled at ISSH. We are unable to extend these services to non-school members, including individuals from outside our academic community. We thank you for your understanding.
