Alumni Board

ISSH is thrilled to welcome a new Alumni Board for the 2025-26 school year. The incoming 2025 Alumni Board will be led by President Sara Lee ‘08. Supporting Sara will be Anne-Yoshié Narahara Visser ‘92 and Lisa Mizugaki ‘92, who will lead the planning of the 2026 Reunion; Chisato Hayakawa ‘17, responsible for managing the Alumni Facebook page and other media; Atsuko Uchikoga Kuriyabashi ‘83 as the JASH liaison; and Elly Calcaterra ‘02 and Jessica Khine ‘79, who will support the Board's efforts from abroad. Sara will lead the Alumni engagement at the Family Festival.

The Alumni Board works with ISSH to connect our alums around the world and to communicate, share experiences, thoughts, and views via email, Facebook, webpage, and reunions! They strive to understand the challenges for women through every stage of life after high school and hope to provide opportunities for alumni to join and participate in the wonderful ISSH and Sacred Heart Community worldwide.

Alumni Essay Contest and Award

ISSH is proud to announce that we have revived the Alumni Essay tradition. Each year, alumni are invited to submit essays written on the topic of the school theme. More information on the contest in the coming school year will be made available soon.

Sophie's Garden

On February 18th, 2012, a life-sized statue of St. Madeleine Sophie Barat was commissioned with funding from donations and merchandise sales from the past years. Located in Sophie’s Garden near the breezeway, the statue stands below a canopy of cherry blossoms in spring.

Sophie's Garden is a memorial to our school’s founder and to alumni who passed away at a young age. Their classmates have donated four dogwood trees to plant around the school. The Alumni Board and ISSH partner to ensure Sophie's Garden is maintained as an important space of remembrance for our alumni community and our school community as a whole.
