Emergency Preparations

In a country where earthquakes and typhoons are not uncommon, The International School of the Sacred Heart has taken proactive measures to ensure the safety and security of our students and staff in the event of an emergency. The school is inspected annually to make sure the facilities are up to code.

The school has a Health and Safety Committee that meets regularly throughout the school year to review the emergency procedures, to coordinate practice drills and early dismissals, to ensure that food and supplies (e.g. tents and blankets) are stocked to last several days, to offer First Aid and use of fire extinguisher training to staff, and a myriad of other responsibilities.

The following response teams have been organized should an emergency occur during school hours.

  • Attention to Students
  • Attention to Non-ISSH People
  • First Aid
  • Fire Fighting
  • Supplies and Cooking
  • Setting Camp
  • Coordination and Communicate
