1 Gold Prize winner, 11 finalists amongst ISSH Japanese Book Review Contest entries

True to our motto, Sacred Heart students constantly demonstrate courage and confidence through taking on new challenges. We are proud to share that many of our students between grades 1 and 6 participated in the Japanese Sakura Medal Book Review Contest, hosted annually by The International School Japanese Teachers' Association, and that 11 were selected as finalists. Congratuations to Grade 4 Sara, Coco, Clair, Nanami, and Miley, Grade 5 Anne and Karin, Grade 6 Emily, and Grade 7 Ayaka and Yuika*. In the words of the Junior School Japanese Department, "Your enthusiasm for reading and dedication to Japanese language is truly inspiring!"

We are especially thrilled to announce that seventh-grader Yuika was awarded the Gold Prize, a historic first for ISSH! "This is a wonderful milestone for our school community," Japanese teacher Ayuko Tomita-sensei shared proudly.
We are proud of all who participate, truly embodying Goal 2.
