E-Learning Update ( March 20, 2020)

Dear Parents, Students, Faculty and Staff,

Thank you for your support, hard work and patience during the past 3 weeks of e-learning. The COVID-19 outbreak has affected the lives of everyone in the Sacred Heart community and we recognize the challenges that individuals and families may be facing. The health and safety of our community is always at the heart of our decision making. In light of the increased uncertainty and measures being taken by governments around the world to contain the spread of the virus, we have decided out of an abundance of caution, to extend our e-learning to April 3 which coincides with the end of Japanese Spring Break. There will be no e-learning over our Spring Break (March 23 - 27) and e-learning will commence again at 8:30am on Monday, March 30. We are extremely hopeful and working towards a return date of April 6.

Starting Monday, March 23, the school will be requiring that anyone returning from overseas self quarantine for 14 days from their arrival date. This will apply to faculty, staff, students and family members.

Due to the extension of e-learning, Grade 7-11 Semester 2 Progress reports will be delayed by two weeks and will now be available on Netclassroom on Friday April 17. Grade 12 students will receive their progress report grades on April 3, as per the original schedule.

We are impressed by and grateful to our community for the great fortitude shown during these trying times. St. Madeleine Sophie would be proud of the courage and confidence displayed by all.

Sincerely,

Yvonne Hayes
