The MS Art Club is perfect for students who just want to experiment and create with all forms of art, from painting to sculpture and everything in between.
Our Middle School Gardening For a Cause members maintain plants both inside and outside of the school building. We aim to make a greener environment at school and learn more about the life of plants and how to grow plants.
We also organize several events throughout the year whose proceeds go directly to Middle School Charities.
Previous events include:
Cafe Herbs in the Breezeway. Selling homegrown herb teas such as chamomile, lavender and mint.
Halloween Pumpkin Patch with Spider Plants on sale.
Bric-a-Brac shop and Tulip Pot sales at the Family Festival.
Global Issues Network or ‘GIN’ club is open to all MS grade levels and meets once a week during lunch to explore some of the environmental and social issues going on in the world and in our community. The club has a focus on the UN SDG’s where students choose an area of focus, research the issue, and then take action. Some examples of taking action have been going to local parks to clean-up trash, displays in the hall to promote the issue (fishing net and trash shown in image), or even our compost project (see image) that is used to help the gardening around campus. If you are interested, please see Mr Gray.
Grade 5 sports club meets on Wednesdays after school to give the grade 5’s an opportunity to take part in some of the sports that will be offered to them in their upcoming years. While grade 5’s cannot participate in competitions with other schools, this club gives them a chance to learn the rules of the game, practice/drill with their grade-level, and even play matches within the club to improve their skills. If you are interested, please see Mr Gray.
Students interested in writing articles for the MS newspaper learn how to research and create a wide variety of reports about a range of different topics.
